The MAC ViVa Glam II lipstick is actually something I picked up because the SA insisted and they didn't have what I initially went in for which is not something I normally do. It was actually a lipstick I swatched and put back cause I didn't like it but when I added a lip pencil under was really nice. I decided to wear it on its own this pass weekend and I have to say I am obsessed. I can add it to yet another nude I am totally obsessed with!

Juliette Armand CC Cream

Today I have a guest review of the Juliette Armand CC cream that Hilde graciously agreed to do for me. I must just say that I have really sensitive skin and it is really easily prone to break outs and this CC cream just did not work for me, so I was so very happy when Hilde agreed to test it out for me and that it worked for her. I just want to say a big thank you to her!

I'm not, and have never been, someone for foundations. I'm much more of a BB cream or a CC cream kind of girl. So when Alice asked me if I would test the Juliette Armand CC Cream,  I was thrilled!

Firstly, the packaging of the CC cream is quite different to other CC creams. It comes in a deodorant-shaped pump bottle with a little plastic cap to prevent product from drying out and clogging the nozzle. One pump dispenses almost too much product, so I've had to learn to just pump the bottle gently.

The CC cream is a peach coloured cream and when I first applied it, I though, "Uh-oh!" The CC cream melts into my skin and adapts to my skin tone. I apply it with my fingers and then use my Real Techniques buffing brush to make sure everything is nicely blended in. As I said previously, I'm not really a foundation wearer, so I like wearing this CC cream on its own with a bit of powder over the top. My skin is fairly well behaved, but I do suffer from redness, which this CC cream sorts out very nicely!

My skin is also oily combination, and I don't find that this makes my skin oilier during the day. It looks and feels good on my skin and forms a nice base for powders and cream blushes to be applied over it.

All in all I really like this product and I can definitely recommend it if you're looking for an easy-wearing CC cream that doesn't smother your skin.

Wishing Wednesday

I feel like I haven't shopped in a while (which is a lie) and that I haven't bought myself something really nice in a long time (which is also a lie) but sometimes we all need to spoil ourselves just a little. My current GHD is in dire need of replacing and I am swooning over the new rose gold GHD currently on the Retailbox website. Also I am counting down till the Chanel Christmas collection is released. Kopi Luwak Most Expensive Coffee in The World

Did you know that you can find Kopi Luwak in Cape Town? I had no clue until my boss mentioned she had tried it, and after being a bit disgusted I had to find and try the "Out of the butt into your cup" dubbed coffee for myself.  

What is Kopi Luwak?

Kopi Luwak takes its name from Kopi the indonesian word for coffee and Luwak the Asian palm civet that eats the sweetest red coffee cherries growing on the coffee trees in Sumatra. The Luwak eats the cherry and then the coffee bean that is inside is passed through its digestive system. Then its unique combination of enzymes in the stomach breaks down the proteins to remove all traces of bitterness in the bean. It is excreted from the Luwak and then collected from all the faeces. The protective parchment that covers the bean is removed and it is thoroughly cleaned and sun dried before being packed and sold.

Is it worth the hype or major price tag?

Honestly I expected it to be cherry flavoured or have some type of flavouring to it (and yes I was told that REAL coffee doesn't have any flavouring to it haha) but it was just a strong cup of coffee, and not even one of the strongest I've had. Its a standard size mug and when it comes its like a espresso shot that you add your own milk and water to. It was a really nice cup of coffee and for not much of a coffee lover like me it was nice but no where near the massive price tag it carries.

You can find it at the Haas coffee shop in Cape Town, they sell it for R110 per cup or you can purchase it per Kg for a whopping R3000!
