Travel Essentials

So this post was supposed to go up before I left but I completely forgot about it! So I've decided to change it to a what I took with me instead post. Choosing stuff to take with me was a bit difficult because everyone kept telling me to pack light and get what ever I needed in California. Here's the problem I had first off I like to be prepared hunting stuff down is not something I wanted to be doing on my holiday. Second of all I wash my hair everyday not because I have to its a personal preference so travel sized shampoos will not work for two weeks and what if I didn't like any shampoo that side I do not need bad hair days or break outs in my holiday pics thank you very much. So I ended up just taking with what I used everyday why change a routine when its good!

Hair Products

Dove colour radiance shampoo & conditioner, Moroccanoil treatment (I decanted some into a little container didn't want my whole bottle to get lost or broken) Dove leave in conditioning spray and my GHD paddle brush (I don't own a tangle teezer but this does an amazing job either way)

Face Products

Ponds flawless radiance daily lotion, Dirty works pore-fect face scrub, The body shop camomile make-up remover, Dirty Works eye cream, Optiph Facial cleanser, Eos lip balm, travel size Chanel eye make-up remover and my babylips lip balm.

 Make-up Products

Mac blot/pressed powder and blush in Petal power, Stila bronzing powder, samples of the Chanel foundation (this saved my life I was so worried Id lose my bag and lose my full sized bottles was way easier this way) Catrice blush, Avon lipgloss, Mac lipstick in Syrup, samples of the Chanel mascara, Essence eyebrow and eye pencil in black black and my burst studio travel blush brush.

Nail Products

Essence Express dry drops, Tip top base coat, Sinful polish in black (my go to colour) and my skull nail file. I did however opt to get nail polish remover that side because I didn't want any issues with it in my bag.

Chanel Counter Event

Last Wednesday I attended a counter even at Chanel in Canal Walk in celebration of their recently revamped studio inside Edgars.

We were greeted with makeovers and tall glasses of champagne as well as really fancy canapes. We were then given a little history in Chanel (I can proudly say I would have scored top marks and admittedly there was a few facts that I didn't know but was really interested to learn)

Like did you know Chanel No 5 was the first fragrance Gabrielle made and that she named it No 5 because it was the 5th fragrance she tested and that she considered it lucky and that's why she went with it. Hahaha well now you know ;-)

There is just something about being inside a Chanel store that brings butterflies to my stomach, even when I went to California I had to go into counters that side and I can tell you that they are just as amazing. There is allot of high end brands out there but none have captured my heart as much as Chanel. The packaging the scent the pure quality. I know its expensive but come on ITS CHANEL would you want it any other way.

MAC Lustre Lipstick in Syrup

I don't own a single nude lipstick and this seriously bugs me, Its not that I cant wear a nude shade its more I have a warm complexion and I need to find the perfect shade that suits my skin tone. So believe me when I say buying a lipstick is one of the most tedious jobs, and it takes a lot of testing and error for me to actually like one and come home with it.

I present to you Syrup which is part of MAC's Lustre Lipstick line, which has become one of my HG lipsticks. MAC describes syrup as a cloudy pink, which isn't far off because I would have described it as a dusty rose. Syrup is a gorgeous mauve pink with purple undertones and a really glossy finish, its really creamy and applies really smoothly even on dry lips and I haven't found that it accentuates dryness at all or that it settles in creases. I have a warm skin tone and it goes perfectly with it, I wouldn't call this nude because its not but it does a really good job of adding color to your lips but still having a really natural look. I have pink undertones in my lips and this does a good job of just darkening the natural color I already have.

The lipstick comes in the oh so familiar black and silver bullet style tube with its tight fitting lid which I absolutely love. Syrup is a semi sheer lipstick but is very build able with just a few sweeps. It is very hydrating, smooth and creamy but light and none sticky which makes it one of my top lipsticks. It has a lasting power of around 2 to 3 hours so for those of you that like longer last lipsticks it probably would be a bit annoying but I don't mind to reapply every now and then.
