Wakaberry Frozen Yoghurt Bar

I am a sucker for anything that's customizable so when someone tells me I can build my own ice cream and add exactly what I want to it and as much as I like you best believe ill be there first hand to test that shit out! A couple of weeks ago I discovered that we also had our own Wakaberry on Kloof street in Cape Town, and ever since going in and buying a bottle of water I have been begging my hubby to take me back so I can test it out for myself. And after all my nagging complaining sweet talking in getting him to take me he finally caved hahaha

What is Wakaberry: It is a self service soft serve frozen yoghurt bar. It was started in 2011 and was established in Durban. The frozen yoghurt is said to be 100% real frozen yoghurt and really low in fat (im guessing this is before you add all your toppings ;-) ) They offer a wide variety of flavours which vary from store to store. Its said to be South Africas first frozen yoghurt brand that offers self service concepts that allows you to be the boss of your creation. They offer an affordable pay per weight pricing system which means you can have as much or as little as you like.

The way it works: As they say yes everything is self service. They give you your desired size bowl and your then instructed to choose a ice cream which you dispense from the soft serve machine yourself. You can add as much or as little as you like and you can mix every flavour if that tickles your taste buds. You then add your choice off toppings which range from fresh fruit, nuts and biscuits to sprinkles, 100s and 1000s, gum sweets, sour worms, smarties, astros, chocolates (seriously the variety of sweets is so much I think ill stop there)

There is also different sauces and syrups that your allowed to use and then everything is weighed on a little scale and your then billed from there. I was so scared that Id be billed a arm and a leg that I stuck to just a spoon full of what ever I wanted. I went with Caramel flavoured ice cream and topped that off with peppermint chocolate and astros and chocolate sauce (If you haven't noticed by now I am obsessed with chocolate well now you know)

I have to say that price wise it really is a bargain cause I had quite allot in my bowl and it only came to about R30 which was disappointing cause Id def have tried everything if I knew hahaha Now I know that Wakaberry is a  frozen yoghurt ice cream and you can definitely taste the ice cream itself has more of a sour yoghurt taste to it rather than the creamy sweet taste that most ice cream have. Which for me was a bit over powering, even with all the sweetness of the chocolate pieces and the chocolate sauce it still was a bit to sour for my taste buds but the experience was definitely a good one. Would still recommend to try even if its just the once.

MAC Sandy B Lipstick

A couple of weeks ago I was on a crazy hunt for a bronzed lipgloss or lipstick and discovered the MAC Nymphette Lipgloss you can read my review here. I have been obsessing over this lipgloss ever since I got it and have been wanting to find a lipstick like it, but as usual the MAC girls have been no help (they are to busy layering on makeup to help you find something) Then the other day I stood testing out almost all the shades at the lipstick stand to find something even remotely similar! At first I found two lipsticks that if you layered them are almost exactly the colour but I don't want all that work. Then I found it the lipstick that is almost the exact same on!

I present to you Sandy B! My new best friend and lipstick that I don't leave the house with out. If you ask me Sandy B is the lipstick version of the Nymphette lipgloss, it has the same peach undertone with prominent gold sheen more than a shimmer. I also found that if you use the lipstick as a base and then top it with the lipgloss it makes the peach and gold pop even more! This is my first MAC lipstick and I must say I can't believe I took so long to get one. It is really creamy and moisturizing on you lips and you get a good couple of hours wear out of it. The lipstick is more of the matte version to the super shiny lipgloss.

Manicure Monday - Sinful colours Black on Black 103

With winter basically on our door steps I think its about time we all started packing our winter clothes and colours out again. Winter is my favourite season so believe me when I say I am welcoming it with open arms. I have a feeling I am going to be slipping  back into my comfort zone with black nails again but I tried a bit of both seasons with Sinful 103 black on black as a base and adding Essies silver bullions again. Gotta say I am loving the black and silver, what do you think?

What is your winter go to colour?

Feel Good Friday - Come Dine With Us - Night 2

Night two of our Come Dine With Us was a Mexican Fiesta, and although I do not own anything even remotely Mexican looking I went with my maxi dress that was my version of Mexican hahaha I also have hair that is impossible to curl so my curls turned into "sex curls" (you know they are way better looking than beach curls) Also I could not find hoop earrings (partly cause I was to lazy to look) so I went with the next best thing hanging hoops with spikes on them this is way better and more me anyway!

The table was so colorfully decorated and we each got hand made crackers filled with sweets with our names on. The menu was Starter: Guacamole y el duo popper Main: Enchiladas Dessert: Tarta de Queso. I didn't get to stay all the way till the end for desert but I can assure you the cocktails and milk tart shots more than made up for it. I'm sticking to my new years resolution to drink more hahaha One thing I am really loving about this whole experience is getting to see what other people make for supper and learning to spice things up a bit because making the same thing over and over gets so tiring.

Here are some pics of our night:

But I am NEXT oh SNAP woman's skills are gonna be put to the test I tell you!

Storyderm Collagen Silk Mask

I've been suffering with this dryness around my mouth area and my chin lately and its been annoying me because I've found it difficult to blend bb/cc cream or foundation around that area without it looking like I have blotchy patches of to much product on my face. I've tried extra moisturizer which caused me to break out and also a serum which is supposed to give you an extra boost of moisture but the minute it soaks in the dry patch is back again. Now if someone had told me to try this cloth face mask that I had actually received in my #CPTBloggerMeetUp goodie bag that's been lying in my draw for weeks I'd have shrugged them off. But my husband was working late so I decided to do a pamper session and give one of them ago and am I ever glad I did because this stuff really does work.

I went with the firming, moisturizing and brightening mask.  The instructions are pretty simple: After cleansing, dry face and soothe with toning water. Gently apply the mask to fit your face contours leave it on for 15 - 20 minutes. Remove mask and do not rinse. Allow excess moisture to be absorbed. The way the mask is designed to work is that it creates a protective layer over the skin, and heats up with the body temperature and keeps this heat in allowing the moisture to be absorbed into the skin helping to nourish and soften the skin.

What I love about this mask

  • They are reusable and you can get more than one use out of them, I so far got 2 and there is totally enough product for a third use.
  • They are not messy, one thing I hate about facial masks is the washing off after and most of the time you need to moisturize again because the water drys out the skin leaving it tight. All you simply need to do it remove the mask and that's it
  • At first when you remove the mask your left with some really wet patches but I just rub the excess into my skin all over and leave it to dry naturally so the pieces that the mask did not cover also get moisturized.
  • It leaves the skin with this really soft layer and that area around my mouth it totally soft even after washing it the dryness hasn't come back yet.
  • My skin was not left oily and it looked natural and bright not dull at all.
  • You can look like a SERIAL KILLER for FREE that's always a bonus for me.

Stila Sweet Treat Bronzing Powder Review

If you read my Stila post before Valentines day then you would have seen that Stila released the most gorgeous limited edition bronzer as a sweet treat for Valentines day this year! And although Valentines day has LONG come and gone I wanted to share my thoughts before this oh so pretty palette has to be packed away for winter *cries

Every year Stila releases a limited edition item just for Valentines day, its always affordable and budget friendly. And being Valentines day inspired it is always gorgeous and pretty! This year was no different when they released the Sweet Treat bronzing powder, which was inspired by a bar of chocolate. And I don't know about you but I would choose a bar of chocolate like this every year over a real bar of chocolate given the choice *hint hint

There are 9 blocks containing 3 different shades: matte brown, shimmery brown and peach. I absolutely hate shimmery bronzers and was really scared that this one would be another shimmery glitter pot but the shimmer is so subtle and the 3 shades balance each other out and work perfectly together. Your meant to swirl all the blocks together and use them all at once to create a natural sunkissed glow. The blocks contain raised letters spelling Stila as well as pretty little hearts but unfortunately this was gone with in the first couple of uses.

I personally found this bronzer to be highly pigmented it is easy to over apply and look like you have really dirty patches on your face so you really need to have a light hand. On my tanned skin I found that the brown and peach shades work really good together and the shimmery block adds the perfect natural glow to where ever your applying it. The powder picks up really easily on your brush and applies really smoothly, it has a velvety texture when applied and it blends really well so it doesn't look like its sitting on top of the skin. Even applied on its own I found that it stays really well on the skin, but my combination skin causes it to wear off around the middle of the day.

This has become my everyday go to bronzer and is a very high recommendation from me if you can still get your hands on it. They are going for R175.00 so hurry hurry and see if you can still pick one up!

Can be purchased from Woolworths and Rubybox

Friday Find - Retail Box Online Store

A week or two ago everyone was raving about the amazing sale Retailbox had and it was the first time I heard about the store. I honestly love finding stores like this online because yes I probably can find all these products if I looked hard enough but finding them all in one place is better than anything else! The bonus also is if you order more than R500 you get free delivery and in my books free delivery is always a bonus because I HATE paying for delivery ;-) Here are a few things that I am eyeing from the store, is there anything you are dying to get?

Rain Africa Biologie Hand & Body Lotion

Ok so no I have not been lucky enough to receive one of those large perfectly packaged packages from Rain Africa yet, but when I opened my gift bag at the #CPTBloggerMeetUP I was so excited to see one of their full sized products inside. I had to restrain myself from opening it then and there!!

A little bit about the company: Rain Africa is a South African company situated in Swellendam but also have affiliates in New York. They specialize in creating handmade bath and body products as well as hand crafted home ware using only natural ingredients with African origins. Rain products are responsibly handmade with love and care for all their customers, craftspeople and the environment.

About the Biologie Range: Biologie products are eco-ethical, biodegradable, environment-friendly products designed to care for hair, feet and hands. This range is multi-tasking designed to help protect the skin from sun damage and delays ageing, revives skin tone, smooths skin texture and restores vital moisture to tired skin and hair. Some of the key ingredients include organic oils from indigenous African plants high in vitamins and omega fatty acids to nourish and protect the skin against free radical damage.

Biologie Hand & Body Lotion Review:  As a hand lotion I absolutely love this product, it has a really hydrating, light weight texture that is soaked into the skin really quickly. It doesn't leave any greasy residue behind and moisturizes the skin from the first application. After I do dishes or clean I am normally left with really dry hands and I have been using this cream almost everyday and it takes the dryness away immediately and doesn't come back once the lotion has worn off. The only thing that I would fault this lotion on is the scent, it has a really strong herbal scent that reminds me of a chemist. The scent is so strong that I am now not allowed to use it around my husband, but the upside is once you rub it in the scent disappears really quickly so what he doesn't know wont hurt him hahaha I also love that it comes in a pump bottle because when I am busy it makes it easy to pump and carry on with what I am doing.

You can pick this lotion up for R99,00 at any one of their stores at Cavendish, Somerset Mall, V&A Waterfront or Willowbridge or you can shop online.

Lush the Comforter bubble bar

If it looks like candy and smells like candy then yes chances are it comes from the LUSH store! I've said it before but I never quite got the whole Lush craze until I walked into their store. Now I want to own everything from the Lush store! My husband and I received a few Lush products for Christmas and now that the weather is finally cooling down we are able to use it.

What Lush has to say: When life is getting you down, crumble The Comforter under hot, running water for passionately purple water and creamy, comforting bubbles. This massive slice of vibrant fruitiness gives you the feeling of being enveloped in a warm hug and gently consoled by the friendly fruity aroma of a blackcurrant candy. It was created to bring a real sense of comfort to people, just like a real comforter would. Snuggle in and stay undercover until you're ready to face the world once again. Even better, each bar creates two baths of fruity comfort.

The comforter is one of the most highly recommended products from their regular range so naturally this was one of the first products I purchased. Its like a compressed bar of candy floss because once you start crumbling it under running water the bubbles and scent that starts forming is like a candy floss machine swirling around in your bath. The one thing I hate about normal bubble baths is that the minute the bubbles form they already start dying and disappearing and the minute any soap is added its like a nuclear bomb that just eradicates any bubbles in its path. With the Lush bar its totally different, the bubbles form the most moisturizing foam I have ever felt even rubbing this on your skin is the most moisturizing feeling. And the fact that my water was PINK and smelt like I was covered in candy milk was not that bad either! One of the things that I love the most is that once you get in the water it feels like you are covered in moisturizer and you can immediately feel the soft feeling when you rub your skin. Adding more water doesn't mean your diluting the water it just forms the foam all over again with every bit of water added.

The Comforter goes for R54.50 for a 200g bar, and Lush claims you can get two baths out of this. This might sounds a bit steep but you can stretch it to at least 5 - 6 baths out of it because it is quite a big bar. This is one of my favourite bubble bars from Lush and is definitely a must try.

Nails of The Day - Sinful Snow Me White

I've never been really big on the whole white nail polish thing some how it reminds me of tippex but lately I have been rocking it allot from jelly to solid whites. I find that white nails looks so sleek and clean and if there's one way you want your skin to look tanner rock some white nails! I have Sinful Colors in Snow me white on here, this is a solid white and only needs two coats to get a really nice eye popping white.
