Happy Halloween

I absolutely love Halloween!! And I honestly think it sucks balls that we don't celebrate it here in South Africa. Although people are starting to embrace the "holiday" here more and more and if you ask me in a few years it probably will be celebrated here. Until then we will all unofficially celebrate it, here are some of my inspirations from Pinterest!

FCUK Cosmetics

FCUK stands for French Connection United Kingdom (who knew right hahaha) I can't be the only person that has a dirty mind and always thought they were trying to make some kind of statement! It actually turns out the acronym came about when they were sending faxes to and from the UK and Hong Kong branches and to make things easier they labeled it FCUK and FCHK and then later it became their logo next to the word French Connection. Anyway FCUK makeup in available from Clicks here is SA (see acronyms are catchy haha) I've seen their makeup products and perfume allot there but I've never tried it out. Ssssooo this past month when I was out shopping for my sister in laws birthday present (there was no way I could grab just one pack) I decided to treat myself to some makeup as well ;) I got two packs one with a purple kabuki brush, a powder compact bronzer and a lipgloss and the other with 4 shades of lipgloss.

Kabuki Brush: I love this brush I bought this set mainly for it. It's so soft and I love the colour of it. I also love the feel of the metal handle in my hand compared to the other wooden or plastic handles. I don't know if it's the cold touch of the metal but it's more comfortable for me. I wish all my brushes had handles like this now!

Compact Powder Bronzer: I'm not sure if it's that this bronzer is so light or if it's the actual bronzer but no matter how hard I tried I could not get any of my brushes to pick up any product. After swirling it about 20 times it did eventually start to collect in the brush but it made no real impact on my face at all. So this was a real let down.

Description - with these 4 lip glosses the woman will have a shade for every occasion, after all variety is the spice of life. There are 4x 5.5ml tubes (I've added the 5th because it was a different shade) each exclusively designed for boots (relabeled as clicks in SA) with a modern yet chic style.I could unfortunately not find any names of any shades on either the packaging or tubes itself. So I'm gonna try and give you my best possible description of each (don't hold it against me if you come to another conclusion)

One: is a bubble gum pink in the tube with lots of glitter - it goes almost clear once applied so you mainly see the gloss with a hint of pink and loads of glitter.
Two: is a pink nude with a very light gold shimmer - when applied this reminds me of a bronzer lipgloss it gives you a very nice hint of a gold tint, this one is one of my favorite of the lot!
Three: is a dark pink- this one had no glitter and not a very high impact of shine
Four: is red - once applied it goes clear and give your lips a red tint
Five: is a brown with I gold shine - this one was also one of my favorites its also the perfect bronzer lipgloss. You get a really nice brown with warm gold under tones it also give some what of a gold pearl effect perfect for summer.

At first this lipgloss didn't really impress me, but after using it a few times it is a nice every day lipgloss. I love the packaging, it comes in square clear tubes with black lids and gold accents with the logos. The actual lipgloss is more of a oily based lipgloss, none of that really stickiness, it some how feels like lipstick once applied though. The 2nd and 5th one were my favorite and I've used them quite allot. The first isn't really anything special. The 3rd and 4th I didn't like at all, it's a weird shade of pink and not something id wear and the red if not applied properly you get a dark red crease around your mouth which is not flattering at all!

Manicure Monday

Essence 104 Sweet as Candy was one of those pinks I was really excited to try out, but wasn't quite what I expected. This is a really amazing pale pink and I can see myself wearing it allot, its some what of a nude pink. I think why it was a let down for me though is that I was expecting more of a bubble gum or cotton candy pink like a really girly pink. It still is an amazing pink though and adds a really soft touch, you do need to add a few layers to get the colour to show. I am wearing three layers here. Still a good purchase in my books :)

Friday Favorite

I received my first bottle of Essie nail polish for my birthday this month and I have fallen in love with Essie. It has fast become one of my favorite nail polishes. The bottle I received is 768 cocktail bling and is a soft light grey. The staying power of Essie is amazing, I have two very thin coats on here and you really don't need more than that to get the perfect colour. I wore it for 2 to 3 days before I experienced my first chip (only because I was hacking at something with my finger nails :-) ) I cant wait to stock up on Essie now hahahaha

Advanced Techniques 360 Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner

Moroccan Argan Oil is quickly becoming one of the most sought after hair treatments for many. People that have dry and damaged hair and want nourishment, smoother hair and manageability are quickly turning to Moroccan oil products for relief and satisfaction, and are falling in love with the results of healthier, softer and shinier hair thanks to the Argan Oil. And Avon has jumped on this bandwagon with a full range of Moroccan Argan Oil products.

About and What it Promises: Avon Moroccan Argan Oil is formulated with Argan Oil, pro-vitamin B5, and Vitamin E. The combination of Argan Oil and essential ingredients give your hair renewed strength, instant shine, softness, smooth silkiness and weightless movement.

I have really oily hair but I dye and style it allot so I am left with hair that is oily on the top and dry and damaged at the bottom. Finding a shampoo and conditioner that works for me has always been a nightmare. When I first start using a product my hair is always amazing and soft and flowy, but then my hair either gets used to it really quickly or my hair takes a 360 degree turn and I want to walk around with a beanie on my head so people don't have to endure looking at how horribly tacky it looks!! The first few weeks of fresh dye my hair is always so soft and shinny and every single day feels like a good hair day, but then it gets to that point were you don't quite need to dye your hair yet, but it feels like its suffered a stroke and no longer wants to cooperate with anything I do or apply to it and it just sort of lies there lifeless, shine less and just plain worthless.

A few weeks ago I was introduced to the Advanced Techniques 360 Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner (honestly I only bought it because it was on sale so I decided why not try it out) and may I add was during one of those stroke weeks!  When the dye starts growing or washing out of my hair I feel like it becomes really heavy and matty with very little to no shine at all. After the very first wash my hair felt like it got all that softness back and was really shinny again. It also seemed to have some of the volume back again and was very manageable and cooperative. It has a very nice scent that isn't to over powering but does fade a bit after heat styling. Its white and very creamy and does wash very well, I bought the mask as well but the shampoo and conditioner works very well together and you only really need to use the Mask maybe once a week.

Does it work? Yes it does supply everything that it offers and some, this is one product were you cannot let the price tag fool you. I honestly love this shampoo and conditioner so much that when it went on sale again this month I decided to stock up for the rest of the year hahaha

Table Mountain - 7 Wonders of the World Cape Town

I think we all focus so much on all the bad things that happen that sometimes we forgot what an amazingly beautiful country we are fortunate enough to live in. Maybe it's because I see it EVERYDAY, when I walk out my door or when I'm driving to work or in fact when I just open my curtains, Table Mountain is just there!

We don't realize how lucky we are to have one of the 7 Wonders of the world right in our back yard! So this past weekend we decided to be tourists and went up Table mountain. It was the perfect day no wind no clouds no rain. We had perfect clear sky's and it was actually quite hot up there but to see Cape Town from up there was amazing. I only realize how much I miss it when I go away and I don't see it, and I swear it's one of the first things any Capetonian looks out for when they are coming back home!! It honestly symbolizes just that HOME!!
