Batiste Dry Shampoo

This past couple of weeks I've been suffering from migraine's really badly, this is something new to me cause I've never experienced it before. At first I thought It was just because I was tying my hair up after days of wearing it down. It got so bad at one stage that it was difficult for me to even wash my hair. Before if I wanted to stretch my blow dry just one more day I would dab a little baby powder on (no I am no assumed to say it) but for me it just made it look dull and it would get oily really quickly after that. I was hearing such good things about batiste that I thought I'd give them a go now that I really really needed something that would allow me a extra day between washes.

Allot of people have the wrong idea of dry shampoos and think it's actually that a shampoo and that it will clean your hair with out water and that you will not need to wash your hair for another couple of days. When in actual fact dry shampoos have the same concept as baby powder really, if you spray it on your hands and rub it together if feels and looks exactly the same. It's not meant to "clean" your hair but more dry the appearance of oil and add some fresh scent to your hair and depending on which you buy add some volume.

Batiste dry shampoo comes in a spray can, with a gorgeous pink floral design something which drew me to it as well (anything pretty and pink and I'm ready to buy it) As instructed you need to apply it about 30cm from the hair and massage in with your finger tips. You need to be really careful with the amount you apply because it can make your hair look dull and chalky almost grey. It isn't heavy on your hair and if applied correctly you don't even feel it so no one will even know you have used it. I love the floral scent of this one wasn't as overpowering as the rest. It does soak the oil up really quickly and your hair is left looking clean.

I picked this bottle up at Clicks for R59.95 for a 200ml bottle. Would I purchase it again YES i have been using it so much that it feels like part of my routine now

Nails of the day - Manicure Monday

I received this nail polish as well as a bottle of perfume to try out a couple of months ago from a company called Mr L (they do, I don't know if you wanna call it oil based or knock off versions of the bigger brands of perfume) I didn't really have high hopes for this polish to be honest but it had a pretty colour so I thought I'd try it out. The colour is called Hot Pinky Pearl and is a nice dark pink with a very light pearl shine to it, which lightens when you add a top coat or quick dry. This polish lasted really long actually. I got 2 days wear before my first chip and only cause I had to put my hands in soapy water, I'm sure it would have lasted longer. On my ring finger I've again applied nail glitter from the tub. This polish retails for R20 and the nail glitter I picked up for R20 a tub. I'm not sure If I would actually purchase this polish to be honest only because it isn't easy to get and has to be ordered and is quite expensive to have it delivered or to actually go pick up from their purchase points and also I was told they only come in about 7 shades which isn't a real variety to chose from but for the price they are worth the money.

Inglot Freedem System Blush #40

Inglot's freedom system is designed for you to have the "freedom" and choice of building your own palette of colours and textures. There are a number of pallets ranging from 1 to 10 in a palette, I believe there are much larger palettes available as well. Each which have a really nice design. The palettes are square and come in matte black with a frosty clear lid covered with Inglot written multiple times across it. The lid and what ever product you chose to put inside them is held down by magnets making it easy to just slid the lid to the side or to pop different shades in and out of the palette.

The blush I picked up is shade #40 and is a peach shade with a gold shimmer. It reminded me of the Chanel Reflex #82 but for less than half the price so I had to take it cause the Chanel is on my lust list and it's the closest I'm going to get to it for now!

In the palette the blush looks very dark a combination of peach and brown with a gold shimmer which is very visible, but when you apply it it's a very warm peachy shade and the shimmer isn't over powering at all. The blush is very pigmented and you really need to be careful with the amount you apply because you can go from looking nice and warm toned to dirty with way to much make up on. Like most Inglot blushes it stains you cheek and looks very natural when applied correctly. The staying power of this blush is fantastic, without BB cream or any other makeup I needed to apply it twice through out the day which is very good considering it was applied directly to the skin. The blush I picked up for R129 and the palette for R70, so once it's finished I only need to purchase a blush again and not a palette

Style36 brings us Essence online shopping

I honestly think that online shopping is one of the best inventions of our time, there is nothing like going online choosing exactly what you want and having it hand delivered to your door step! There is also nothing better than actually going shopping personally though. I'm the type of person that doesn't really know if I actually want an item unless I'm holding it in my hand! Also some stuff never look as good as it does online, but shopping also has its down falls one which annoys me to the moon and back, what you see online they never have in store and it annoys me having to jump from shop to shop asking for an item that 90% of the time people have no clue what your talking about. So when I seen last week that Style36 now stocks Essence I did a little dance of joy from my office chair. You can have a look at whats available here

Happy shopping ladies!

Smashbox Love Me Blush - Idolize Me

Ever since I saw this blush online I have been obsessing over it! But of course by the time I actually seen it it was sold out EVERYWHERE!! Ssoo my mission to track one of these babies down began!! I finally just phoned Woolworths head office and managed to track a store down that had 3 left you would not believe how happy I was to hear that hahaha The first couple of days I could not bring myself to using it though, I could not bare destroying the gorgeous pattern and when I finally did I'd dust across it ever so lightly just to pick up what I needed ;-)

The packaging is amazing, it's comes in a square matte black compact with love me written all over the lid in red and white, as well as love me imprinted in the blush itself. The shade is called Idolize me, in the compact it looks really light and I was worried it would look chalky once applied but it doesn't, the shade is a pale pink. And everytime I try and think of what colour it actually is it some how reminds me of those salmon prawn shell chips you get from woolies NO I have no clue why (thank God it doesn't smell anything like it) This blush is VERY pigmented and you really need to have a light hand when applying. It gives a really rosy flush to the cheek and lasts very long through out the day. It stains the cheek and doesn't at all feel like it's sitting on top of your skin. I don't wear any foundation or anything and directly to the skin it last some time, with my bb cream it also last equally as long.

This blush retails for R220 from woolworths, would I buy it again? Yes I love the look and packaging and it is a really good quality blush.

Nails of The Day - Manicure Monday

A few months ago I came across this picture on Pinterest and instantly became obsessed with finding this exact shade its what I would call "Barbie" pink (if anyone actually knows what this polish is called PLEASE do tell me so I can put my sanity to rest). I know it's probably the lighting in the picture but every pink I get (I have to many to mention) just isn't the RIGHT shade! The diamonds are a bit big for me in this picture so I always opt to go for a nail glitter instead!

Here is another shade of pink for me to cross off my list. Sinful colours shade #920, I could not find any name just a number. On my ring finger I have nail glitter that I've just applied with clear nailpolish and a quick drying top coat. I have to say this polish really disappointed me. I applied it with a base coat two coats of this polish and a top coat and it still only gave me half a days wear before they ALL started chipping. The polish has a matte finish wen drying but a top coat makes it instantly glossy. Its more of a neon pink and much brighter than the pictures but still a very outstanding colour.

I picked this up from Clicks for R27,95, will I be purchasing again? Probably Not

Would Your Rather Tag

I saw this Tag post on Pink Peonies gorgeous blog (you can check it out here) I loved her answers so much and I love doing posts like this cause I feel its a chance for your readers to get to know you a little better and tagged myself hehe Like her I am going to opt to not tag anyone because I agree some bloggers are weird with the whole tag posts things (FYI I love them) so if you feel like joining then TAG YOUR IT!!

Would you rather lose all your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadow?
I would die with out my mascaras and eyeliners sometimes its the only thing I wear, eyeshadows are not a very big thing for me and probably only wear them on special occasions.

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I could not live with out my long hair honestly sometimes I go months with out even a trim because I get anxious even thinking about someone I dont know cutting on my hair (I've been scarred by people messing up my hair)

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
For so long I was under the delusion that pink was the only colour that was acceptable to use but after trying out coral I have fallen in love so I think I would choose coral!

If you had R10 000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
I am obsessed with clothes and shoes so I would probably go with clothes but I feel like makeup has become part of that. I mean I wouldn't leave the house with out panties or a bra (I'M JUST CLASSY LIKE THAT) but I also would not step foot out my door with out my makeup on. So to me there is no option here AND if you went to a store like Edgars or Woolies then you could get them all under the same roof is this cheating??

Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Honestly neither they both just freak me out even thinking about how that would look or work haha (can someone say jerseyshore hot mess haha)

Would you rather shop at MAC or Edgars?
Every MAC i have ever been to have the most stuck up know it all sales people I have ever met so no I would not go there AND Edgars has a massive choice of brands to choose from which are all amazing so Edgars all the way

Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
Definitely lip colour cause again I don't really wear eyeshadow and oddly enough all my lip colours are the same either light pink or coral

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Hands down summer clothes in winter!! I HATE being hot and it would give me an excuse to cuddle more!

Would you rather dark nails or bright nails all year round?
DARK even though there are amazing brights out there pinks neons you name it black with always be my old faithful

Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
Has to be lip product I believe your eyes are the windows to your soul and you would not have bare windows you hang pretty curtains up hahaha I know weird comparison but my eyes along with my hair are one of my favourite features

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or messy bun?
I dont have the right shaped face or a long neck for a bun so I dont wear then very often and pony tail you can wear so many ways and also still show off the length of your hair

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
Out of fears that Id look like Spock from Star Trek I would trade in every makeup product I own and every cent of money I have to my name to have them surgically replaced!!

Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use ligploss?
Wow now this is a tough one, I am obsessed with lipgloss but I have also become obsessed with nail polish. BUT I think I would go with out lipgloss *cringe

Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
I would not be able to live with out makeup nail polish does not make as big a statement than what makeup does!!

Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment

I have been obsessing over Moroccan Oil hair products this last couple of months, only because EVERY person I follow on Instagram was raving about how awesome it is and I could literally not find it anywhere in Cape Town! It got so bad that if I found ANY product that said Moroccan oil on it Id buy it, you know FOMO haha I swear I've phoned every hair salon in Cape Town that's names I could remember trying to track down even a sample of this product and no one even knew what I was talking about or kept referring brands that also do it I wanted to scream and finally just gave up!! Then last month my husband took me to a late night movie and on our way out of the shopping center I noticed a salon that in the corner on one of their shelve displays was a range of products all in BLUE packaging!!! I'm embarrassed to even explain the shriek that came out of my mouth and I do apologize to the old couple that was behind us but if they knew they would have understood I'm sure hehe

The next day I had to phoned the second the salon opened and was there straight after work to collect my hair mask. The sales lady insisted that I try this oil treatment but her explanation on it was the worst I've ever heard (and it was way more and we always know how they try to sell you more expansive products lol) and the mask was what I was after so there was no way I was walking out the store without it. Needless to say I did go back for the hair treatment oil and I swear it was the best decision I have ever made!! Since I got this I have literally not touched any of my hair masks! Now lets get down to what your actually here for my review on this product haha

What they promise:
Moroccanoil® Treatment is the original formula that pioneered the oil-infused hair care category, creating the worldwide buzz on argan oil. A versatile and multitasking product, it is an essential foundation for hairstyling that can be used as a conditioning, styling and finishing tool. It even speeds up drying time and helps restore and revive hair damaged from chemicals found in shampoos, color processes and perms, as well as environmental factors. Infused with antioxidant-rich argan oil, strengthening proteins and shine-boosting vitamins. A completely transformative treatment that leaves the hair healthy, shiny and more manageable.

• Detangles
• Restores elasticity
• Revitalizes hair

Did it work HELL YES!! It did exactly what they promised and so much more. This treatment you would use like any other silicone, you can apply it to towel dried hair and then style, after you have dried your hair and before heat styling or after to complete your look, flatten down any fly a ways and to condition. I've been using it after I dry my hair and before heat styling and after I add a tiny bit more, it makes my hair smell so good and my hair feels softer, bouncier, shinier and overall just so much healthier looking. I have not been able to keep my hands off my hair it just feels so good. I love the pump nozzle that it comes with because its so much easier to pump just a tiny bit into your hand and not waste any product. You do need to be very careful with the amount that you apply because if you add to much it does tend to make your hair look oily. I only apply it about 5cm from the top and I rub it into my tips for extra conditioning after I rub the palms of my hands very lightly over the top just to add some more shine to my root section. I can honestly find not fault in this product at all, will I be purchasing again yes it is my new hair hero and i will not go anywhere with out it!

This treatment retails for R415 for a 100ml bottle which sounds like allot but you use such a little each time that I'm sure with will last for a good few months!!

Jeannie in a bottle

I can honestly say that I have never seen one of our local celebrities release a personal fragrance before, if they have I am so sorry that I have never seen or tested if before (hint hint) This week it was announced that Top Billing presenter and local celebrity Jeannie D has released her first fragrance cleverly named Jeannie in a bottle!

It will be sold from Sunday 1 December exclusively in Clicks stores but if you cannot wait till then it is available online from Forma cosmetics for R329,99. I have to say thought after seeing all the add campaignes going around I am dying to try this scent out, I am a fan of J-D and hope that this one is a major success!!

From the forma-cosmetics site:
The entertainment world’s favourite girl has decided to branch out and do what very few local celebrities have done; launch her own fine fragrance, "Jeannie in a Bottle"... Encompassing all that is Jeannie, in one beautifully bottled and packaged, world class fragrance, Jeannie in a bottle is as elegant and sophisticated as Jeannie herself. Its fruity and citrusy top notes are seductively infused with sophisticated floral and spicy-woody middle notes, with a bass note of amber, musk, tonka bean and vanilla.

Lust List - Wishing Wednesday

I'm just going to come out and say this, I did not understand the hype about lush!! (only because i have never been there) I am not the type on person that will jump on the bandwagon just because everyone else is, but because the hype was so big I decided to pamper my sister in law for her birthday and get her some gifts there.

When I  walked through the door I was stopped in my tracks by the most amazing array of scents all attacking my nose at the same time, if it did not say cosmetics I could have sworn I was standing in the middle of a candy store!! I was greeted by the most energetic sales lady who insisted on showing AND testing almost every product on me :-) and I felt so bad because she was taking full sized balls and throwing them in bowls of water, I kept saying NO JUST CHIP A PIECE OFF hahaha. She started with the oh so lovely snow fairy body wash (there was only 2 100ml bottles left and I insisted on taking both because I had no idea how amazing this stuff was and there was no way I was gonna leave the store without it!!!) There are so many amazing stuff there and I can now say I am obsessed with their products the smells the amazing quality and the way my skin felt. Lush has truly won me over and I am now obsessed with getting EVERYTHING in their store!!

Clinique Lash Power Mascara

A couple of months ago I won this mascara from Gee Whiskers amazing woman's day competition (you can read her review here) and when my current mascara was finally finished I started using it (I always finish my mascara before I move on to the next) I have been using it for the past month or so, so I guess I can finally give my review on it.

I have really been enjoying this mascara, it claims to be a long lasting mascara and it really is. I apply my mascara really early in the morning before work and it pretty much looks exactly the same in the evenings (I don't touch up my makeup during the day so I expect it to last through out). It doesn't clump or start crumbling during the day and has amazing staying power even on really hot days. It is a bit difficult to wash off if you do not have makeup remover but hot water works if you rub long enough hehe and because off this I would guess its a good mascara for people that bring on the water works allot! It has a really nice brush which at first I wasn't to sold on but after using it a few times I actually really like now. It has short thin bristles which make it easy to get to the smaller shorter lashes in the corner of your eyes so you have even coverage. Its a nice black mascara and is very buildable, so if your like me that likes drama you can layer it with out lumps or sticking together!

You can pick this mascara up for R220 at most major department stores, cosmetic counters and pharmacies.

Nails of The Day - Manicure Monday

Its that time of the week again yep Manicure Monday! So I wanted to share something that I am totally in love with at the moment. Nail Foils they are not the easiest thing to apply or remove for that matter but I love them because you can get such gorgeous designs (cause I am not that talented) in a matter of minutes and they last way longer than normal polish so you know you will have them for a bit longer. I have Yardley black lace foils on here which I picked up at Dischem for R22-95 I'm pretty sure that they were on sale but I am not 100% sure sorry, I've paired it with Essence colour & go date in the moonlight R24-95 which is a gun metal grey one of my all time favourite colours at this moment.
